hand Painted casting cloth decorated with the mighty world tree - Yggdrasil and elder runes.
An ash I know there stands,
Yggdrasill is its name,
a tall tree, showered
with shining loam.
From there come the dews
that drop in the valleys.
It stands forever green over
Urðr's well.

Odin watched the Norns from Asgard and realized their powers and their wisdom, so he set out to harness it himself in coming to know the runes.
Since the runes are well protected in the Well of Urd with the Norns, and since the runes do not reveal themselves to any but those who can show their nature worthy of the knowledge and abilities of the runes and their power - Odin hung himself from a branch of Yggdrasil, pierced himself with his spear, and peered downward into the dark waters below. he refused care while he hung there, not a bite of bread nor a sip of mead.
He survived in this state, teetering on the precipice that separates the living from the dead, for no less than nine days and nights. At the end of the ninth night, he at last perceived shapes in the depths: the runes! They had accepted his sacrifice and shown themselves to him, revealing to him not only their forms, but also the secrets that lie within them. Having fixed this knowledge in his formidable memory, Odin ended his ordeal with a scream of exultation.
Having been accepted into the runes powers, Odin said:
Then I was fertilized and became wise;
I truly grew and thrived.
From a word to a word I was led to a word,
From a work to a work I was led to a work.
In the HAVAMAL
In stanza 138 of the poem Hávamál, Odin describes how he once sacrificed himself to himself by hanging on a tree. The stanza reads:
I know that I hung on a windy tree
nine long nights,
wounded with a spear, dedicated to Odin,
myself to myself,
on that tree of which no man knows
from where its roots run.
I work closely with local Norwegian farmers to source all of my pelts including my rabbit pelts. im able to visit the farmers and see that they live good life and part of my craft insures that every part of the rabbits are honored. these animals are meat animals, meaning that the pelts are a bi product of feeding families. part of honoring our ancestors means not letting anything go to waste and finding uses for every part we can.
The pelts I work with are not dyed and will vary in color if not specified when ordering. They are soft to the touch and have a range of colorations from white and grey, lighter brown to deeper warmer tones , deep Black and variations combining them all.
